Too Many Irons in the Fire
Have you ever heard that saying?
It is a very common saying and it refers to having a schedule too busy to accomplish everything that you intended to get done. It goes back to the simple blacksmith trying to get more work done than he could possibly get done and some of the work ends up destroyed by the fire instead!
Don’t miss this. Work that he had planned on getting done is ruined because he tried to do too much!
Can you relate to this? Do you have too many things in your daily schedule? Are you adding things to your schedule even tough you are having enough trouble accomplishing everything already on your schedule? Have you found yourself telling someone that you sorry you didn’t get something done that you said you would do? Did you forget to do something that was on your list of things to do?
When we have too many irons in the fire, the result is that some things don’t get done.
We as Christians must be careful to not have too many irons in the fire too. Many Christians have more than one job while pursuing additional education. Then we add our hobbies which some people have more than enough in just hobbies. (Just saying) Oh, what about what we do for recreation, yes add that to the list. (I struggle with that)
You see, we have so many irons in the fire that we haven’t even placed a spiritual iron in the fire! Ouch! Someone needed to read this. Amen?
We Christians are becoming like the world! Our own schedules are not allowing God in as much as we should be. In fact, many Christians are realizing that these days are similar to the days of Noah.
Matthew 24:37-39 KJV (37) But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. (38) For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, (39) And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
People were very wicked in that time and as we are seeing today, our country has become very wicked. Take a close look at what they were doing back then. You will notice that not all of them were bad things, right? But it becomes clear that they had excluded God from their heavy schedules! The whole world as we knew it a year ago has changed. It seems that the whole world around us has surrendered to evil.
Do you see how we have become such a wicked nation? In Noah’s day they ignored his preaching! (2 Peter 2:5) Today, many “Christians” ignore the true preaching and go on about their busy, very busy schedules! We have too many irons in the fire!
Today, reevaluate your schedule. Too many activities? Too many hobbies? Too many commitments? Too many recreational activities? Having to make excuses for not completing them all?
Finally, what is your top priority? God should be the first on the very top of the list. But is he? Just asking….
If not, its time to take some irons out of the fire.

Amen bro, this is a very good message. We should all concider our prioritys and just look at the evils of this once great country. Put God back on the throne of our hearts. And in control of our hearts.
Indeed. Prayers for a revival
Amen good one. Way too many irons in the fire
amen brother
Very good word. I've been guilty of this myself. Then "crisis management" kicks in to accomplish what needs to be done or what there is a responsible for. Then stress becomes a factor. I pray for the Lord to help us to keep priorities in order and that we always keep Him at the very top of that list. I pray that we know what to put aside that distracts us from Him.
Amen and amen!
This writing is very on point.
I keep telling everyone something is coming.
Now I am not saying the Lord is coming im saying a battle is coming in many ways.
Be prepared not only in a spiritual way but protect yourselves people from this world with tour faith in God and rebuke the devil in the name of Jesus and be strong 💪 and know God is there.
Amen brother
