Tasting the Salt from Other’s Tears
Romans 12:15 KJV Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep.
Yesterday evening, I visited with a family that is on the verge of saying goodbye to their 92-year-old loved one.
I could taste the salt from their tears.
This morning at 0230 hours a good friend of mine had a heart attack.
I could taste the salt from his tears as I prayed with him on the phone.
Today at 1100 hours our time, my cousin will be laid to rest.
I can taste the salt from my other two cousins that are saying goodbye to their brother. As well as all my Aunts and Uncles.
Have you ever heard that saying, “I can taste the salt from your tears.”?
Even if you have never heard that saying, I bet everyone reading this has experienced it.
At some point in your life, you have tasted the salt from someone else’s tears.
It is because of the compassion that you have for those that you taste the salt.
Most of the time it is because you shed your own tears producing that salt physically.
But the closer our relationship becomes with Jesus, the more we taste that salt even without crying.
Amen?
Sometimes we get so involved in our own lives and agenda that we don’t recognize those around us hurting.
Have you tasted the salt lately?
I pray for you to spend time with the Lord today and ask him to help you be more sensitive to those around you that have those tears.
May you taste the salt from their tears and show them the love of Christ.
Have a blessed day
