Surprise!

Surprise!

Surprise!

Have you ever been working on something and just about the time you think you have got the task completed, you get a surprise?

This brings on an array of emotions, doesn’t it?

This seems to happen a bunch in my life.

On our return trip from our vacation, we were only 70 miles from home when the motorhome just died!

We had traveled for a couple weeks and had over two thousand miles on the motorhome and then suddenly without any warning, the engine shuts off and won’t start again.

Yesterday I was finishing up a do-it-yourself project that had been going for three days.

I was eliminating the overhead electrical lines that went to the two-car garage and the shop behind our house.

Ever since we had moved in, the two-car garage had wires going from our house to the garage with two trees acting as electrical poles for the heavy wire.

The shop has had two Romex cables running from the house, providing it the power it needed.

That line had reached the point where it was sagging lower and lower until I could reach up and touch part of it!

So anyway, yesterday all the new wiring had been routed underground and I was hooking the ends up inside the shop and garage.

I opened the electrical box in the garage and found out that the lugs were seized up as well as all the circuit breakers were corroded.

Those same array of emotions was trying to overwhelm me!

I was hot, sweaty, and very tired. That added to those emotions, but I quickly recovered.

I have been doing do-it-yourself projects for decades and surprises are just part of that

I have helped others with their do-it-yourself projects because they reach that "surprise" moment and are not sure what to do next.

I guess the more you endure the easier it gets. Amen?

That reminded me that our faith is tested daily as well and the more we endure the closer we become to being the Christian we should be. Amen?

James 1:2-4 CEV (2) My friends, be glad, even if you have a lot of trouble. (3) You know that you learn to endure by having your faith tested. (4) But you must learn to endure everything, so that you will be completely mature and not lacking in anything.

May you be surprised today and endure,

God bless ya’ll
