Nothing Has Changed If You Haven’t Changed

Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 (1) To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: (2) A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted; (3) A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; (4) A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; (5) A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; (6) A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away; (7) A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak; (8) A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.

This is probably one of, if not, the most quoted scripture when it comes to dealing with change.

So today we are using this scripture and we are going to be dealing with the change. Understand that Nothing changes if Nothing changes.

The statement “Change is inevitable; misery is optional” is truer than many of us care to admit.

Somehow, we imagine that it is possible to live without change. However, we can no more live and not have change than we can jump without feeling the impact of gravity.

Therefore, to live is to change, and any thought that we can avoid change in life is pure illusion.

I can try to resist change and try to stay the way I am or release my resistance to change.

But the Bible says in Hebrews 12:1 “lay aside every weight, and the sin”, in other words there is some stuff that has to change.

There is a saying that goes:- “NOTHING CHANGES IF NOTHING CHANGES AND IF I KEEP DOING WHAT I'VE ALWAYS DONE, I'LL KEEP GETTING WHAT I'VE ALWAYS GOT AND WILL KEEP FEELING WHAT I ALWAYS FELT."

That is a true statement because to do the same thing over and over without ever having something change and you keep looking for a different outcome to happen is crazy!

Albert Einstein said”- “The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result."

A lot of people go through the motions of Christianity, but they never change their lives or their life style.

2 Cor 5:17…Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

The simple interpretation of this scripture is change.

Remember change must happen in life, for to live is to grow; to grow is to change.

If you want things to change you must cast off some stuff.  Amen?

If you are going to grow in your walk, you must be willing to allow God to help you to change, to be more and more like Jesus. Amen?

  • This is so very true. I pray that we are all so on fire for Jesus, that we hunger and thirst for more of Him daily so that the world can't help but see His Light and love.
