No LInes, No Waiting

No LInes, No Waiting

No Lines, No Waiting

Many of you may already know or have heard that by nature I am a very impatient person.   I don’t like to wait around with nothing to do.  I don’t like to sit around if there is something that needs to be done.  In fact, one of my spiritual gifts is impatience. LOL.

With this in mind let me say that I always pick the worst line to get in no matter where I might be.

If I’m in traffic I get in the slowest moving lane. And then if I move to another lane that one all of the sudden slows down and the one I was in speeds up.

Fast Food Restaurant – I get behind the guy ordering for his whole apartment building.

I like it when they open another line and the lady comes over and says I can help a few people over here. There are no lines, no waiting over here.

Did you know, when you’re coming to God there are no lines and no waiting.

You remember the story about Blind Bartimaeus? It’s in Mark 10.
(Mark 10:46) And they came to Jericho: and as he went out of Jericho with his disciples and a great number of people, blind Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, sat by the highway side begging. (47) And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out, and say, Jesus, thou Son of David, have mercy on me. (48) And many charged him that he should hold his peace: but he cried the more a great deal, Thou Son of David, have mercy on me. (49) And Jesus stood still, and commanded him to be called. And they call the blind man, saying unto him, Be of good comfort, rise; he calleth thee. (50) And he, casting away his garment, rose, and came to Jesus. (51) And Jesus answered and said unto him, What wilt thou that I should do unto thee? The blind man said unto him, Lord, that I might receive my sight. (52) And Jesus said unto him, Go thy way; thy faith hath made thee whole. And immediately he received his sight, and followed Jesus in the way.

He was a beggar that sat on the road to Jericho

He cried out to Jesus

People said be quiet

Disciples said it’s not your time

Wait your turn (Get in Line!)

Jesus opened up another line for him and said NO LINES, NO WAITING!

Remember the woman with the issue of blood, also in Mark
(Mark 5:25) And a certain woman, which had an issue of blood twelve years, (26) And had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse, (27) When she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched his garment. (28) For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole. (29) And straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of that plague.

She was sick for 12 years – in line, if you will, for 12 years

She tried every doctor

She used all her money

She was getting worse

She was not supposed to be there, the disciples tried to get her to "wait in line."

But she touched the hem of Jesus garment

Jesus opened up another line for her and said NO LINES, NO WAITING!

The list goes on and on. The man at the pool of Bethesda. Jesus shows up and announces, NO LINES, NO WAITING! Amen?

Let me close today with this:  If you need Jesus today there is no more waiting!

NO LINES AND NO WAITING!

You may have been waiting 5 years, 12 years, 38 years, it doesn’t matter because Jesus can touch you today! He can…..

Heal your body!

Fix your messed up life!

Mend your broken heart!

Deal with your troubled marriage!

Deliver you from any addiction you may have!

Solve a financial problem!

Save your soul!

You don’t have to wait around in line for him to do it.

He can do it right now.

What the devil took years to mess up God can fix with just one touch.

NO LINES AND NO WAITING! (Watch this old sermon at Dave's Sports Bar from 2012. Be blessed)
