Helping Others
Sunday evening, while Ethan and I were in the hot tub, he asked me to wake him up Monday morning at 6AM.
I asked him why and he explained that he wanted to help Tramp and Barry at the Blessings.
He further explained that both men needed the help because they were older, and all the lifting made them hurt.
He figured if he got up at 6AM he would have enough time to get his Math and Science done before going to help them.
Ethan loves his sleep so I figured that when I went to wake him up, he would change his mind. He usually sleeps until 7:30 or 8AM! We usually start school at 9AM.
I woke him up at 6AM and he was downstairs eating cereal before I had the coffee started!
When I came back in the house from the hot tub, Ethan was sitting at the kitchen table with the Math materials out and ready!
Normally, I have to motivate him to just get moving after he eats!
Ethan finished his schoolwork as planned and was ready to go by 9:30AM
I was proud of him and told him so as Tammy started the car to take him to the store.
This is one of those times that we adults could learn from our children, amen?
Do we help others? I mean, do we actually make a sacrifice to help others?
Maybe it is a loss of sleep, or we adjust our schedule to help someone when we would rather be doing something else.
Or do we just help when it is convenient?
The word of God says in Galatians 6:2 KJV Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.
Pray about that today.
Maybe God is trying to tell you that you need to help bear the burden for someone.
Just saying…
Have a blessed day
