The Doctor’s Appointment
This morning I have an appointment with a neuro ophthalmologist in San Antonio. Regardless of what kind of doctor, no one really likes going to see them. Of course we jump in line to see a doctor before the dentist right? LOL. We alwaysm need to look at the bright side to help find contentment, amen?
Tammy and I are looking forward to the three-hour plus drive.
Not because I need my eyes checked but because we are going to see the Alamo afterwards.
Tammy is a native Texan and has never been on the Riverwalk or seen the Alamo.
The word of God says in Philippians 4:12, “I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation,” amen?
One way to “learn to be content” is to look for something good out of all situations.
Now, at first, I was livid that I had an appointment made for me in San Antonio and even called and complained about it!
Then Tammy said, “You know. I have never been to the Alamo.”
That motivated me to put the wheels in motion for a mini vacation.
My appointment is from twelve to two. We have a 3:30 appointment for a thirty-minute tour at the Alamo. I also made a hotel reservation so we could spend the rest of the day on the San Antonio River Walk.
The next morning, after a nice breakfast, we will head back home. But not without stopping at a Bass Pro store that we have never been at.
You see, we took a situation that interrupted our plans, remember “Give God the Eraser?”, and made the most out of it. In my second book, I explain in the chapter titled “Dream of Flying Fulfilled” how being sent to Mississippi turned out to be a great trip.
I encourage you today to be content in your situation and look for something within that situation that you want to do.
I pray you find something within that “storm” to bring you joy and turn the “bad” into a lifelong good memory.
Have a blessed day
